Firstly I would like to thank the staff for the work and commitment that they have shown over the last 12 months, in what I know have been very difficult and uncertain times. As Louise said in the last newsletter we are in a good position financially to see out the rest of this year. However we are hopeful that our Big Lottery application will be successful. If so, it will ensure our sustainability for the next 3 years.
This is not to say that we are not exploring other areas of funding to provide resilience for the schemes future and much needed security for staff, volunteers and families.
It was sad to lose Sarah-Jane in April, who had given so much to ensure the success of Home-Start Gosport & Fareham, unfortunately in the current financial climate there was no other option in order to reduce our out goings.
I know that Louise will fill the void left by Sarah-Jane’s departure, this coupled with the experience and support of Jacky and Debbie will make sure of the continuance of the scheme.
I would also like to echo Louise’s message to the volunteers, without whom we would not be able to offer the support to families who would face serious consequences if that ‘friendly face’ wasn’t there to help.
